Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to manage payroll and related compliance functions for approximately 60 business clients. This position sits at a CPA firm and it is the firm's dedicated payroll professional. Responsibilities include payroll processing, payroll tax compliance, multi-state payroll administration, and client support.

Job Duties:

  • Process payroll for approximately 60 client organizations across various industries.
  • Administer payroll through QuickBooks Payroll (Intuit) and related platforms.
  • Manage payroll processing for clients with multiple entities and payroll groups.
  • Handle multi-state payroll processing and related tax compliance requirements.
  • Prepare and file payroll tax reports and filings.
  • Coordinate payroll-related remittances, including payroll taxes and retirement plan contributions.
  • Process special payroll items such as bonuses and other supplemental compensation.
  • Research and resolve payroll discrepancies, tax issues, and client inquiries.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
  • Provide exceptional client support and payroll guidance.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of payroll processing experience.
  • Experience processing payroll in a multi-client, high-volume, or outsourced payroll environment.
  • Knowledge of payroll tax requirements and payroll compliance.
  • Experience handling payroll for multiple pay groups, entities, or clients simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Additional Information:

  • Pay: $60-70k/yr.
  • Schedule: Mon - Fri, 8am - 4:30pm (flexibility on daily schedule)
